Bio: Troy moved to the Northwest in 2013 for an opportunity to inherit operations of Goldendale Observatory from its outgoing director of 32 years, Steven Stout. Since that time, he has delivered thousands of presentations on astronomical and other scientific topics and coordinated observatory upgrade projects, including ongoing renovation of the 24.5" reflecting telescope and the planned 2017 construction of an entirely new facility. Prior to 2013, Troy headed a training center in Philadelphia, lectured at Yale and Columbia Universities on energy economics, and was a professor of renewable energy technology in New Mexico. His hobbies include timelapse photography and tinkering with high voltage apparatuses.
