OMSI Lunar Viewing

OMSI Star Party - Lunar Viewing

Because Earth's moon will be in a perfect position for viewing on Saturday, July 8, the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, Rose City Astronomers and Vancouver Sidewalk Astronomers have organized free Star Parties at Rooster Rock State Park and Stub Stewart State Park starting at 9:00 pm. From beginners to experts of all ages, here's your opportunity to view the moon, stars and other celestial objects up close and personal through telescopes. Viewing highlights include Saturn and waxing gibbous moon, several star clusters, and more! The angle of the sun will cause deep shadows to fall on the moon's surface, making its highlands and craters more easily visible.
