Please join members and guests of RCA as we March for Science on April 22 in downtown Portland near the waterfront. Why do we march? That’s simple:
We march in support of scientific research, science education, and dark skies.
If that’s not enough reason to march, then
MARCH TO CELEBRATE EARTH DAY! MARCH TO CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL DARK SKY WEEK (April 22-28)!
The march starts at Tom McCall Park at the Morrison Bridge. RCA will be gathering near the old mast of the U.S.S. Oregon located between the Burnside and Morrison Bridges on the waterfront. This location is in the north-end of the rally area shown in the map below. Look for our RCA banners and posters. We will start gathering at 9 am. The easy, 1.4-mile route is along Portland streets.
There is a permit for the march, so unless you misbehave (and of course you won’t misbehave) there is no worry of arrest. Come dressed in your March for Science or RCA gear (hats, shirts). Download a poster from our forum. Please keep your posters within the theme of why we march as stated above. Our group is not a place for hateful or obscene words or images.
