Like most hobbies, astronomy has its own set of vocabulary that we use to describe what we do, how to navigate the sky, and what we're looking at. If you're new to astronomy all together, this can make for a steep learning curve! In this month's meeting, we'll cover terminology relating to the sky and celestial navigation, a few astronomical and observational terms, and some of the kinds of objects you might be observing when you get out to a star party.
This presentation will not focus on observing equipment - though this will be covered in other sessions.
These orientations are not all the same and we encourage any members to come to any presentation that covers a topic that interests you!
