Where web content publishers reference anything having to do with RCA’s events, calendar, articles, or website, they must credit or make reference back to RCA. For example: “See RCA’s website at {link} for more information” or “see [Someone’s] article on this topic at {link}.”
For the reasons listed below, web content publishers using their media to announce RCA events must submit their text via email to the communications officer to check for accuracy and/or content before it is published on a website other than RCA’s own.
The RCA calendar can change and frequently does. Events are added or canceled or addresses change as does contact information. Outdated information or misinformation may continue to show on other websites after RCA has changed it on its own website.
In addition, other websites could accidentally publish wrong information, such as wrong dates or mistyped addresses. These mistakes can cause confusion, delay, and disruption of RCA club activities, or cause RCA to lose members.
RCA events for members only should not be publicized on any website except RCA's own, nor through social media.
Some of the RCA SIGs meet in small private spaces and cannot accommodate large numbers of people. SIG meetings should not be publicized outside of the RCA site.
RCA public outreach events may be shared on other websites, but only by using a link to our calendar to avoid misinformation.
Joint OMSI-RCA events are organized and publicized by OMSI. Web content publishers need to check with OMSI’s Astronomy Educator before putting any reference to these events on their own websites.
The names, trademarks, service marks and logos of RCA appearing on this site may not be used in any advertising or publicity, or otherwise to indicate RCA’s sponsorship or affiliation with any product or service, without RCA’s prior express written permission.
Although the RCA site includes links providing convenient direct access to other Internet sites, RCA does not endorse, approve, certify or make warranties or representations as to the accuracy of the information on these sites.
RCA will make reasonable efforts to include accurate and up-to-date information on its website, but RCA makes no warranties or representations as to its accuracy. All users agree that all access and use of RCA’s website and the content thereof is at their own risk.
Neither RCA, nor any party involved in creating, producing or delivering information and material via RCA’s website shall be liable for any direct, incidental, consequential, indirect, or punitive damages arising out of access to, use of or inability to use RCA’s website, or any errors or omissions in the content thereof.
